The North West Model Railway Clubs Association (NWMRCA) exists to support model railway clubs in this area. It helps with a model railway exhibition database.
Millom Railway & Scale Modellers are pleased to be new members of the NWMRCA. Some of the layouts at our new look exhibition are by fellow members.
A number of our members model in this smaller scale, 2mm:1ft or 1:148. The club is a member of the N Gauge Society and some members are also individual members of the NGS.
Our Chairman, Peter Chesher, is publicity officer for the N Gauge Society.
The NGS offers technical advice, a Society shop, Area & Worldwide Groups, Exclusive Society Wagon Kits and a bi-monthly journal.
Pete Chesher and Maurice Chapelhow represented the club at last year's NGS Annual Model Making Competition and brought back the Ratio Cup and Numerous Certificates. Pete Chesher also won the Group F Building Cup in 2008 with the model of West Bay Station.

Millom Railway & Scale Modellers are members of the Hornby Collectors Club. Hornby offer OO Gauge locomotives and rolling stock, along with many accessories and the Skaledale collection of N gauge buildings. Their recent locomotives are a massive improvement on past efforts and the club is happy to recommend Hornby products. Look at the recent Hornby Class 31 & 60 Diesels and you'll find that Hornby Detailed Models are just that and no longer "toys"! Find out more at the website link below:
Graham Farish by Bachmann offer a vast range of N Gauge locomotives and Rolling Stock. The new locomotives offer excellent running qualities with fly wheels, close coupling, open spoked wheels and improved livery application. Look out for the new Jubilee Class steam loco's to see how far N Gauge steam locomotives have come in the last year or so.
BRITISH manufacturers of both OO & N Gauge Locos and Rolling Stock. The latest Dapol locomotives are of excellent standards both in running qualities and livery finishes. There is no doubt that this company has helped to bring N Gauge into the 21st Century with their competition. The new B17's book sets are excellent and our LNER man Keith Driver must really like these, come on George lets have some LMS!
Take a look at their web pages for further details of this and the forthcoming Class 156 modern DMU's in the Dapol Platinum range. One can only hope that they bring out a "Northern" liveried machine eventually. Dapol also plan to release a class 86 electric outline locomotive and catenary (overhead wiring) system.
