A new section to show off the efforts of our junior members. Our Junior members are busy with thier N Gauge Layout under the guidance of Chairman Pete Chesher and Mr. Keith Driver, LNER Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME). The lads are presently ballasting the track (boring but essential for a good quality model railway).
The wiring droppers were soldered to fishplates before laying the track so that no solder blobs are seen when the model is finished. After ballasting we will paint the rails sides to look like rust and the Chairman shall then airbrush the track with a thin coat of dirty paint to make it look like the real thing. Once we are happy that the track looks real and works correctly then we can move on to scenery, buildings and signals.
